one day retreat

SUNDAY DECEMBER 22nd - 11.00am - 5.00pm

A turning point on the Celtic calendar, celebrated by our ancestors on this island and the indigenous peoples of the northern hemisphere, the Winter Solstice is a time of rebirth, renewal and regeneration.

Solstice or 'Sun Standing Still' marks the time of year when the sun is at is furthest position from the earth. This year, it will fall on Sunday 22nd, at 4.19am exactly.

It is on this longest night, in this deepest of dark, that our ancestors saw the greatest energetic opportunity for growth & transformation.

This year, not only is it the longest night and the dawn of a new year, it is the dawn of a new decade. A potent time for reflection & contemplation.

Testimonials from previous events:

'As a total newbie I wasn't sure what to expect. I need not have worried. Sorcha immediately makes you feel at ease. She is clearly highly skilled as a teacher / healer and from the start, I felt I was in  safe hands. She led us to a place of such deep rest, I didn't know existed. Today, I feel so grounded and energised with a new found sense of clarity about my life. Highly Recommend.'

'I had never been to a yoga class or relaxation session before so I didn't know what to expect. For my first experience, it was amazing. Sorcha is so gentle & kind with a big heart. Could not recommend higher.'

'Amazing. I had the best night sleep I've had in a year'

'Beautifully held space. Sorcha invited us on a journey inward and I found a core of peace & stillness in me that I hadn't expected to find. A truly wonderful evening. I came out feeling deeply contented and connected.

'One of Sorcha's many gifts is the ability to guide a group to total relaxation of mind and body. I found the auditory and physical sensation of the vibrations of the singing bowls and gong to be profoundly moving and indeed sacred. Wholeheartedly recommended.'

Yin Yoga: a deep slow mindful practice effecting the major meridian lines of the body.

Restorative Yoga : a deeply restful yoga practice that is designed to not be physically challenging yet opens the body releasing blockages. Expect bolsters, blankets, blocks, bliss.

Yoga Nidra : a guided meditation where you are lying down, covered with blankets and invited to rest every bone, tissue, muscle, cell and in your body. More bliss.

Gong Bath : The Gong is a powerful instrument with multiple tonal ranges that bring the listener to a state of deep rest, mental harmony and balance.

Healing Mantra : The body is an instrument. With the voice we vibrate the instrument using the ancient language of Gurmuhki, producing deep healing on cellular level.

Tea Ceremony : A Japanese practice of contemplation that invites us to consider 'wabi', our inner spiritual lives, and 'Sabi', how we present to the external world. We will work with winter berries Hawthorn, Rosehip and Elder.
